This is a fact that we always know what is good and what is bad for us. If it is something related to our health then surely one must understand how important it is to know about bad health habits.
Smokers and drug addicts always know that these habits are injurious to their health but avoiding the fact, they don't get rid of those bad habits. WHY? Just because they don't try hard to avoid those habits. In latest researches it is medically proven that when habits became our routines, they get more harder to break and need more energy to get rid of them.
As far as i am concerned, I like to drink tea and this is a bad health habit for me, due to ill digestive system and too much acidity problem. I drink 3-4 cups of tea daily that sometimes extend to 5 cups as well. Because this is my routine so automatically i start feeling that I need a cup of tea badly.
That cup of tea...... That attracted me much, more and many times.
Doctor Volkow says, "we can drive along familiar routes on metal auto-pilot without really thinking about the direction. When behaviors become automatic, it gives us an advantage because the brain does not have to use conscious thought to perform the activity." This is dam true.
HOW TO AVOID AND GET RID OF BAD HEALTH HABITS
- First of all identify the bad health habit that become a routine in your life and enlist them.
- Try to avoid those situations and events that attract and trigger your brain towards those bad habits.
- Thirdly try to replace the bad habits with some good health routines.
In order to avoid smoking, adapt a habit of exercising or some other good healthy routines like gardening etc. Keep away your thinking from that bad attraction and feeling towards some other good health ones.
Similarly i start thinking and adapting a good habit of drinking fresh fruit juices at times when my internal carves me for a cup of tea.
