Comic inspiration of Philip Lim - Pre Fall 2012
- Written by Nadia Najam
Philip Lim pre fall 2012 collection was like he take a little inspiration from comics. That's dam true, because Lim really take inspiration from Sin city, V for Vendeta and neo-noir comics. Yet a very different idea. I heard Philip said "Every one wants garments to be super heroes, and This 'fill in the blank' should save your day, your week and your year".
A comic shirt with a leather skirt, a comic print shirt with a black blazer, a comic printed hand bag and the comic knitted cardigan were the comic inspired pieces from Lim.
The collection features slitted Capri, cuff shirts, color blocking, peplum, knee high slim skirts and shorts, crop jackets and cashmere blazers, zipper skirts, cashmere scarf shawls, chiffon fabric panel, sleeves and layers over skirts, reverse puffer jackets, maxi gowns and fur uppers.
Color palette was also hero like containing black, off white, brown, brick red, gray, turmeric yellow and coffee colors. Hand bags, clutches and most of all shoes used for the collection were very stylish and outrageous. I love those red sandals and red pointed pumps. The coats by Philip Lim are worth wearable.
